How I rate
Every score is essentially opportunity cost: for what it cost me, was this worth it compared with everything else I could have eaten? Would a $10 Chipotle bowl have tasted better and gotten me more food?
What goes into a score
A mix of taste, price and value, with a little bit of atmosphere. There's no specific formula, so the weights shift a bit from place to place. I try my best.
Scores are relative
I rate each place by comparing it with the ones I've already rated in the same category. A 10 means it beat everything else I've had in that category, not that it's perfect, and scores often move as I try more places.
By the numbers
773 places rated since November 2023, across 7 cities. 419 have notes, and there are 875 photos. Nothing is sponsored; it's just for the love of the game.
